About the artist

Nicole Corbett is a multidisciplinary artist whose work lives at the intersection of spiritual inquiry, material ritual, and personal transformation.

Her mixed media practice—combining photography on velvet, hand embroidery with holographic thread, glass beading, and fluorescent acrylic framing—evokes the feeling of portals more than paintings. Each piece is an offering: tactile, light-filled, and deeply rooted in Zen. She also works in ceramics as a parallel exploration of stillness, silence, and form.

Before devoting herself fully to her art, Corbett spent a decade as the founder and CEO of Worn, a women-led creative agency in New York that developed campaigns for over 100 brands including Bumble, Walmart, and Procter & Gamble. That chapter, built from the ground up, became her own creative business school—sharpening the vision, discipline, and experiential design sensibility that now inform her studio practice.

Her journey into art began even earlier, during a year in South Korea as a Boren Scholar, where she studied Korean language by day and attended Dharma talks by night. A silent retreat with a Buddhist nun catalyzed a spiritual rupture that changed her life’s direction. The themes of that awakening—impermanence, presence, and emotional freedom—continue to shape the essence of her work.

Corbett’s art is a meditation on healing. On what it means to dissolve fear, touch truth, and create beauty from stillness. She lives and works between Amagansett and Brooklyn, NY, where she shows her work privately by appointment in her Domino Sugar Refinery showroom in Williamsburg.

Testimonials

Cathy & Ed Sim - Amagansett, NY & Coral Gables, FL

“We were introduced to Nicole through a mutual friend, and from our first visit to her studio, we were struck by her warmth and creative spirit. Her passion shines through both her and her work. Nicole took the time to walk us through her process, sharing the inspiration and intention behind each piece, which deepened our appreciation even further. We were especially drawn to her Marine Symphony and All My Fears Are Gone series, both of which are as thoughtful as they are beautiful.

When we decided to bring her work into our home, Nicole generously offered to visit and help us find the perfect placement—she even installed the pieces herself.  Nicole’s  professionalism, care, and artistry make it an absolute joy to work with her. Her presence and artwork have brought lasting beauty and meaning into our lives.”

“As a designer, I love tearing out magazine pages that spark my interest and save them in a folder for inspiration. I kept going back to Nicole's pages that displayed her beautiful artwork. I love juxtaposition within art. Seeing her translucent framing really drew me in as they popped so well against the ethereal feeling of her landscapes. The hardest decision I had was choosing which color I loved more! They all gave off such a wonderful glow which changes depending where your light sources come from. The piece has now lived in different rooms in my home, and it truly is remarkable to me how it feels so fresh wherever I choose to hang it! It makes me smile everytime I pass it. Thank you, Nicole”

Kacey Karp - Bridgehampton, NY

“I met Nicole Corbett in an intimate gathering inside her art studio in East Hampton, NY. I was immediately drawn to the space and the art itself. It felt soothing yet alive with a certain kind of energy that is difficult to describe.

Weeks later, I found myself thinking about a photograph I had seen in her barn, and I asked my daughter if she would go back with me to visit.

Nicole (and her husband) were warm and welcoming. I think it was the very next day that they came to our house with the pieces we selected along with a brand new piece that had just been completed.  We placed all three in my daughter’s room and unanimously agreed that the new piece was it!

Every time I go into the room I am reminded of serenity & joy. Nicole’s artwork is so special.”

“Seeing Nicole’s work online for the first time in 2021, we were immediately struck by the stunning patterns and colors she created. Our careers have caused us to move several times, both domestically and internationally, and we have chosen to seek out local artists, adding pieces to our home to tell our story. So when Nicole’s ceramics captured our attention, we met in person and she described her unique creative process. We were entranced and commissioned two moon jars to sit side by side.

Nicole worked with us to determine the perfect size and color scheme to fit our home. Upon delivery, Nicole thoughtfully included photos of the process to create our custom pieces. Not only do we have prized possessions to display, but we have the story behind them as well. Our vases bring us joy each day; thank you Nicole for sharing your creative gift with us!”
